Anne Hathaway Gives ‘High Fives’ at SAG Awards

ET’s Mark Steines is getting “high fives” with the always-glamorous, SAG award nominee Anne Hathaway, and talking about her recent Oscar nomination — Mark also caught up with SAG Award winners Kate Winslet and Alec Baldwin as well as several celebrity couples.

“You never get used to it,” Winslet says of her Oscar nomination for her role in ‘The Reader.’ “I’m more nervous this awards season than I ever have been before.”

Celeb couples to arrive on the red carpet include: James Earl Jones and Cecilia Hart, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick and comedic couple Will Arnett and Amy Poehler.

Mark also talks with Jeremy Piven of “Entourage” who says the success of his show is “pretty surreal.”

The red carpet excitement doesn’t stop there — “Desperate Housewives” actress, Teri Hatcher, awards Mark with his own title of “honorary member of the gown wearing community!”

Do Robert Downey Jr., Anne Hathaway, and Brad Pitt Google Themselves?

Pretty much all of us “regular people” have Googled ourselves at one point or another. But what if you were so popular that a Google search could result in finding nasty rumors and horrible commentary about yourself that you wouldn’t necessarily want (or need) to know? Such is the problem with celebrities Googling themselves. Recently, new Oscar nominees Brad Pitt, Robert Downey Jr., and Anne Hathaway participated in a round table where they answered the question of whether they had ever Googled themselves. Click through my slideshow to see who admitted to it and who denied it!

Anne Hathaway’s joy over Oscar nod

Anne Hathaway’s dog was left nonplussed by its owner’s Oscar nomination.
The actress was at home with her pooch when she learnt she had been shortlisted for a coveted gong.

As she and her parents celebrated, her dog looked on bemused, she told entertainment website HollyScoop.com

She said: “I was with my parents and my dog when I got the news and we were all overjoyed – although I’m not sure my dog knew what was going on.”

Anne has been nominated in the actress in a leading role category for her role in Rachel Getting Married.

She is up against Angelina Jolie, Melissa Leo, Meryl Streep, and Golden Globe winner Kate Winslet.

Anne said: “It is such a thrill to be recognised in this category with these remarkably talented women.

“This is a great day to be an actress.”

It is the first time that the 26-year-old actress has been nominated for an Academy Award.

Jonathan Demme’s indie hit with Anne Hathaway

Jonathan Demme has been making films — some of the smartest and funkiest in modern cinema — for 35 years now. He has navigated a circuitous path through celebratory slice-of-life drama such as Melvin and Howard, the screwball thrillers Something Wild and Married to the Mob, concert movies such as Stop Making Sense, the prestigious Oscar-winners The Silence of the Lambs and Philadelphia, and documentaries. If his next project is a western or something in 3-D, he’ll have the full house.

Has all this experience resulted in a magic formula? When we meet in a hotel suite high above the drizzly London streets, I ask Demme if he would like to add anything to his declaration, in the late 1980s, that the secret to making a decent movie is: “You get a good script, good actors, and try not to screw it up.” He lets out a joyful laugh — the first of many from this genial 64-year-old with short, bristly grey hair and a dusting of stubble — and gives an exaggerated slap of the thigh. “That’s the formula, baby!” he whoops. Golden Globe : Golden Globe apologises for Anne Hathaway’s ‘award’ blunder

Golden Globe organisers have issued an apology for mistakenly stating Anne Hathaway as the winner of the Best Actress category on its website.

An asterisk had appeared to the star’s name in the list of nominees – even though the award ceremony was to take place on January 11.

According to the statement on the website, the actress, who is nominated for ‘Rachel Getting Married’, had been “randomly marked as a winner” by accident, reports the BBC.

The statement said: “In the process of preparing for Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, a technician working on the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s (HFPA) website made a mistake and a name of a nominee was randomly marked as a winner.

Hathaway wants to be First Babysitter

With Barack Obama’s inauguration just days away, People magazine spoke with various celebrities about the position they would want to fill if they had the opportunity to be a part of Obama’s cabinet.

Anne Hathaway’s answer was more personal than political.

“I would want to be head babysitter,” the Bride Wars star replied, people.com reported. “I’d love to be First Babysitter, absolutely.”
